::My
Mission
My Mission is to change the neogeneric
form of entertainment. I feel that the days of going to theatre, and taverns, and jazz fest are over and are rapidly being
replaced by fly by night night clubs and cinemas. I feel that in order for us, African Americans, to grow as a race we have
to take hold of the way we spend our time. Once this is achieved, I am confident that the world and our race, as we know it
will be greatly benefited.

Hi, Im Keith Bruce. Im a 17 y/o actor/writer from Richmond,VA. I became interested in Acting after
a close friend of mine began to write plays for his theatre class. I found myself thinking " Im a writer and I sure would
like to have my work Performed"...One thing led to another and I eventually enrolled in the theatre class. When I got
there the class was under the guidance of a wonderful Director by the name of Karen Brown (K.B), who taught me the
more technical side of theatre. I had my first Stage Assisting position for a play performed by her upper level classes
called "Cootie Shots" which was what I like to call a satirical account of the adventures of elementry school children.
That summer Brown left to take a job as an instructor at a college so that left our theatre program in a fragile state.
Thats when I met Derome Scott Smith (Living Word Stage Company) who became the new Director of our Drama Department. Not only did Smith plan to do profesional theatre with high school
students he did it. He started oiff with an August Wilson play by the name of "Fences" In which I had the pleasure of working with some of the most talented actors in George Wythe High School. I took on the role of Troy Maxson, accompaning me was the very talented Allison Warren as Rose Maxson,Dominique Whitfield as Gabriel Maxson, Irvin Henderson as Jim Bono, Devon Johnson-Bey as Lyons Maxson, and Waddell Winston as Cory Maxson.
In the Spring we performed "Life" by our own Derome Scott
Smith. Which an urban remake of the story of Jesus Christ. In this play i had the honor of working with an extrordinary actor
by the name of Darnell Minor, I also had the pleasure of working with Kevin Harris and Devon Johnson Bey
